CyanogenMod 11 Nightlies brings support for the Sprint Galaxy S5

Some of you probably have been carrying some heavy burden with the usual TouchWiz for a very long time but it might turn around now that CyanogenMod enters the picture as an added support for the Galaxy S5 on Sprint, taking the form of nightly builds.

Galaxy S5 Sprint CM11 Nightlies

Starting with tonight's nightly cycle, the 'kltespr' better known as the Galaxy S5 Sprint variant will be receiving CM11 builds.

Work is continuing to support the rest of the 'klte' family, but there are no updates on its status beyond that at this time.

Given this device's roster entry coming so near to the impending M10 release, it willnot be available beyond the development update cycle for the time being. (You can set this in CMUpdater settings).
Before flashing any ROMs, you first have to unlock your boatloader. And because it is the first of which is now available, it is likely that the nightly may be a bit buggy. So if you’re the type of person who wants to keep things safe and smooth, I suggest you can wait for the more stable version which will most likely be available for the near future. It was reported recently via CyanogenMod Google+ account that it’s still working on providing support for all of the US Galaxy S5 variants. We can only watch out for updates since there is still no news about when it is going to be realized.

Dell's new 6mm thick Venue 8 7000 Android tablet revealed

With Apple’s domination of the hardware headlines these past few weeks, it looks as if other companies find it hard to compete. However, Dell chooses to not be affected by this news.

Michael Dell with Intel’s Brian Krzanich introduces their brand new tablet dubbed the Venue 8 7000. The manufacturer believes that the latest device can actually compete side by side with today’s high-end tablets. Venue 8 7000 promises remarkable features starting with its jaw-dropping 6mm thick build which makes it the world’s thinnest tablet, making iPad Air look like a bulky device.

But it does not stop there. Even with its ultra-thin structure, the device is fully packed with features including that of a 359 ppi 8.4-inch OLED screen with 2560x1600 pixel resolution, making it a match with Galaxy Tab S pixel-for-pixel. And to make it even better, Dell also combines this high resolution display with Intel’s RealSense camera technology. In case you don’t know, Intel RealSense lets users scan and customize their images in 3D. It also utilizes two camera modules to capture depth like that of HTC One M8, letting users alter focal points as well as affix various effects to their photos. It can also scan your surroundings with an immediate feeling of depth. Intel is enthusiastic when it comes to enhanced reality projection especially when it comes to capturing images as well as gaming action.

And also, thanks to Intel, the tablet is powered by the updated quad-core Z3500-series Atom SoC which is the latest Intel chipset for Android tablets.

But all this sneak peak provides are only the tip of the iceberg. All other things that this tablet can do are left hidden underneath and are yet to be tapped. We can only be assured by Intel’s announcement at CES earlier this year with the company’s promising devices using the RealSense before the year ends. So apparently, they will release the Venue 8 7000 later this year.

How to Upgrade the Galaxy S5 SM-G900F to the latest 4.4.2 Software Update

Samsung always advises us to prepare the following important notes to consider before performing the software update.  I have also added some useful insights why you should follow this procedures to keep your  phone in safe.

Recharge the phone’s battery – You should make sure your device is fully recharged before performing the software update. Do not also remove the battery during the software update is in progress. A power failures may cause damaged to your device that might results as we so-called “soft-bricks”. If this happens your device may just stuck on Samsung logo or welcome screen and can’t reboot normally.

Backup important data – You should back-up your important files, including contacts, emails, messages, photos, videos, apps and other stuff. Like I said while during software update process is interrupted there is a possibility that your data stored from your device internal SD card may lose or deleted when a sudden unexpected failure happened and it forces you to perform a factory data reset which basically wipes your phone’s memory.

Galaxy S5 has no root - Your device should not been modified or rooted, there is a certain circumstances that a modified and rooted Galaxy S5 SM-G900F may not accept any official software update anymore or it can accept an update but it might harm your device once the update has made. Learn about the new Samsung KNOX security suite. Most known error that says ‘firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in kies and try again‘ or “Your device has been modified Software update are not available” you should try to avoid that from happening.

TELUS to be the official launch partner for the latest Moto X

TELUS has yet given another very rare opportunity by Motorola after its successful attempt in bringing the Moto G to the top of the charts.

Way back last year, Rogers was the exclusive distributor of the original Moto X, but because of poor sales due to ineffective marketing strategy, the result was way below the expected sale quota. This time, the responsibility is already in the hands of TELUS, as it was announced very recently in Chicago that the said carrier will be the launch partner for the new Moto X.

The new flagship of Motorola will be offered in black and bamboo variants through TELUS. As for the pricing, the said carrier has not yet confirmed about it, although U.S. carriers have priced it at $99 on contract and $499 outright, so we will anticipate TELUS to set the range at the similar level. TELUS also has not yet confirmed for its specific availability but it assures public that the Moto X will be released this coming fall, so better watch out for more updates.

Though Motorola would not commit on releasing the latest Moto X to other Canadian carriers, its partnership with TELUS will expire in a few months to open doors for others to offer the said device.

TELUS will also be the exclusive distributor of the coming Moto 360 in black leather variant that will also launch this fall.
