T-Mobile Galaxy S6 edge+ Got an Update with Various System Improvements

Way back in May, T-Mobile Galaxy S6 edge+ has gotten its Android 7.0 Nougat upgrade.  Last month, the device receives some fixes to the intermittent call failure for select users. Now another round of Nougat update dubbed as build number G928TUVS4EQG1, will be hitting the Galaxy S6 edge+ users starting on June 201, 2017.

The update includes some various system improvements, according to T-Mobile. But while sneaking around the build details, the update also contain the July 1, 2017 security update.

We also keep eyeing on the Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T) and the Galaxy S6 edge  (SM-G925T) variants,  but yet it seems like there ain’t no signs of Nougat update as of this time being.

T-Mobile Galaxy S6 and S6 edge Receives July 2017 Security Updates

Earlier in June, T-Mobile has rolled the Android 7.0 Nougat updates on Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.  This time around a new update is being pushed of which has the monthly Android security maintenance updates.

A new software update for Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T) dubbed as build number G920TUVS5FQG1 and for the Galaxy S6 edge  (SM-G925T) with build number G925TUVS5FQG1 will be hitting on both devices this week. These releases contain the monthly security update to which basically bumps up the said devices Android security patch level to July 1, 2017.

So if you’ve got a T-Mobile Galaxy S6 or S6 edge, you can manually check for a software update by going into Settings > About device> Check for an Update.

Canada's Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920W8 Android 7.0 Nougat's June Security Update to version N920W8VLS4CQF2

As Canada's Galaxy Note 5 already received its Android 7.0 Nougat updates way back in April. Now here comes another round of Nougat updates that are about to hit the said devices this month. This update will bumped up all Canadian carriers Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920W8 to Nougat version N920W8VLS4CQF2 from the previous released version N920W8VLU4CQC9.

T-Mobile has finally begun rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat updates to their Galaxy S6 (SM-G920T) and the Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925T) variants. Way back in April, T-Mobile have been pushed the Android 7.0 Nougat on Galaxy S6 edge+, now it's for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge models turn to get the same treatment. What's taking them too long to unleash the said updates may have some reasons. But it may have been late than never, the waiting is finally over.

AT&T Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 active and S6 edge plus Receiving May Android Security Updates

AT&T has just released this month's OTA updates for their own Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 active and the Galaxy S6 edge plus models.

Android 7.0 Nougat Updates on Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920I Released in Australia, version N920IDVU3CQD3

The Android 7.0 Nougat update for Galaxy Note 5 SM-N920I variants has finally begun.  The said Nougat update is now available for those who owned the factory unlocked and Vodafone Galaxy Note 5 in Australia.  While other carriers such as Telstra and Optus might as well follow soon.

May 1 2017 Android Security Updates Released on Verizon Galaxy S6, S6edge and S6 edge+

Verizon is sending out an OTA updates containing the May 1, 2017 Android Security Patch Level for the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, and the Galaxy S6 edge+ .  These are now the second Android 7.0 Nougat being rolled out on the said devices.

The Verizon Galaxy S6 (SM-G920V) has moved its Nougat OS to version NRD90M.G920VVRS4DQE1 from NRD90M.G920VVRS4DQD1 . Similarly happened to the Galaxy S6 edge that also bumped to version NRD90M.G925VVRS4DQE1 from NRD90M.G925VVRS4DQD1. While Galaxy S6 edge+ (SM-G928V) on the other hand, had also jumped up to version NRD90M.G928VVRS3CQE1 from NRD90M.G928VVRS3CQD1.

Just a heads up for AT&T Galaxy Note 5 owners, there's a new update hitting on your devices this week.  This is the 3rd round of Android 7.0 Nougat update that will bumped the device Nougat OS  to version N920AUCS4EQE1 from the last month released version N920AUCS4EQD1.

This is a just a minor OTA update that only bring the May 1, 2017 security patches. It is now seeding live via Over-The-Air OTA and weighs at 15.8MB in file  size.

T-Mobile Galaxy Note 5 Nougat Updates to N920TUVU4EQE1, Brings May 2017 Security and Fixes to Intermittent Call Failure

T-Mobile is sending out another round of Android 7.0 Nougat update on the Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920T). This new update will move the Note 5 recent Nougat OS to version N920TUVU4EQE1 from the last month Android 7.0 Nougat update version N920TUVU4EQC6. According to T-Mobile, this update applies the May 1, 2017 Android security patch level, and brings fixes to Intermittent Call Failure that have been found in earlier released.

Android 7.0 Nougat Update Hitting Galaxy S6 G920I and S6 edge G925I in Australia

The Android 7.0 Nougat update has started rolling out on Galaxy S6 (SM-G920I) and Galaxy S6 edge (SM-G925I) in Australia.  First on the spot getting the Nougat upgrade are Vodafone, and the factory unlocked version of the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge.  While Optus might also follow shortly confirming the release will also start on mid to late May.  However, Telstra hasn't made any announcement yet, but it shouldn't take too long for all  Galaxy S6 and S6 edge owners in Australia seeing the said Android Nougat updates.

We have juts spotted a new update for Sprint Galaxy S5 SM-G900P at Samsung's site. The update will bump-up the device recent Android 6.0 Marshmallow system to version G900PVPS3CQD1 from G900PVPS3CQC1. However, Sprint has no longer made any official announcements for this device updates, so we couldn't tell everything about it. But there is one thing this update brings, and it's the April 1, 2017 Android security patch level. Noting that Samsung were sending out the monthly Android Security Maintenance Released (SMR).

Also, keep in mind that you can only get the new update if your device has not been rooted and or currently running on a modified firmware.  You must unroot your device first before taking an OTA update so your device may not get into any issues.

How to Update Samsung Galaxy S5 G900V to Marshmallow via Over-The-Air (OTA)


This is usually how the carrier branded or locked Samsung Galaxy S5, performs a software update.  This method is Firmware Update through over the air or called as OTA update, which most often  a notification message will directly send out to you from your network provider and notifies you that there is a new update available for download.  If you did not receive any notification messages you can manually check for the update instead.  Doing so you may only navigate on your Galaxy S5 SM-G900V  Settings > System updates > Check for new system update.
  • Slide your finger down the display starting from the top edge of your mobile phone.
  • Tap the Settings icon.
  • Tap System update.
  • Tap Check for new system update.
It will automatically tells you that a new update is available. You can simply tap install now when you want to perform an update or install later.
The other option is to use the Verizon software update tool itself, from where you  simply plug-in your phone into your computer to perform an update.
