AT&T Galaxy Note 5 Receive October Android Security OTA Update N920AUCS3CPJ1

AT&T is sending out the new Android Security update for the Galaxy Note 5 (SM-N920A). The latter will update the device to build version N920AUCS3CPJ1 from the previous version N920AUCU3CPHA.  However, it is just a minor OTA update but it brings the October Security Patches as part of the monthly maintainance  to the recently found Android vulnerabilities. It is quite not so interesting update at all as it does not bring any new features, but it plays some vital part to secure the device and user's personal data.

The update weighs at 24 MB to download via Over-The-Air. The release begins on October 26, 2016, and might run into several days until all AT&T Galaxy Note 5 devices receives the said October Android Security update.

Here are the steps on how you’ll update your Galaxy Note 5 via Over-The-Air.  

1. From the device Home screen, simply tap Apps.
2. Tap the Settings (gear icon).
3. Tap the System tab.
4. Tap About device.
5. Tap Software update.
6. Tap Check for updates.
7. Tap the Install button, then OK.
8. Wait until the phone completely reboot before touching it. It may reboot (turn on and off) multiple times as the update might still at its finalization stage.

However, if somehow the update isn’t available yet, you should also consider that the released usually take in stages and may also take into several days before it arrive in some areas. So you may have to wait and keep on checking until you'll see the update.
