HTC Desire 510 Entry-level 64-bit soon to be available in Canada

It will be only in a couple of months until the 64-bit Desire 510 will be available in some carriers including Fido, SaskTel, Rogers, TELUS, Virgin and Videotron, says HTC. Previously, the company has released the said device that is the sole reason for bringing the LTE to the company’s lowest price point.

For the general benefit of knowing the new HTC Desire 510, the device gives a FWVGA 854x480 pixel display as well as 1.2Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 410 chip. This device is a pioneer in field when it was partnered with Qualcomm’s low-end 64-bit SoC that sports four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.2Ghz next to an updated Adreno 306 GPU. Also lying below the surface is a 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage as well as a microSD slot, and LTE connectivity for the Canadian market. The device also sports a 5MP rear camera without flash and a VGA front camera. HTC also have plans in designing a special Dot View case for the Desire 510, having found out that it is a popular trend in its One M8. In terms of software, the Android 4.4 with Sense 6 is recognized as currently one of the favourite OEM skins.

with a couple of missing pieces about HTC’s Desire 510 including its release dates for pricing and the specific LTE band support in Canada that is still yet to be determined, it is surely a worth to watch out for. The HTC Desire 510 will be available in Terra White and Meridian Grey.

Samsung teases public with new patent exposing foldable smartphone display

Several years ago, man is still unaware of how fast a certain device will evolve in a given period of time, much more and specifically, the way it is displayed and used. Now, the rapid upgrades and innovation is really inevitable for man to handle since almost every day, he faces updates and new technologies, giving him more opportunities than he can ever imagine.

Two of the contributors of this constant and rapid change are Samsung and LG whom we recall have just revealed devices with curved displays last year. And already Samsung has taken actions to make this a reality. Recently, the US Patent and Trademark Office published a patent application from Samsung stating that the said manufacturer is at present working on a display that will more or less fold if desired without the fear of damaging the display.

With this news in mind, spectators definitely expect more of what this device can do. And in response, Samsung teases the public with its future smartphones featuring display that can be folded either backward or forward based in the patent provided. It enables the device to perform more convenient tasks like calendar and alarm clock displays that only foldable smartphones can execute.

However, the fact that Samsung is already working on the perfection of foldable phones doesn't imply that we can see foldable smartphones on display soon. Nobody knows besides Samsung itself when these devices will be out in the market. Stay tuned for new updates because future technologies such as these might be out next year, tomorrow or better yet, today.

PowerSquare lets you charge several gadgets on one pad

Yes, you read it right. The wireless charging market is set to welcome its newest entry, PowerSquare, the pad that allows charging multiple devices by placing the latter anywhere in the surface of the pad, eliminating the need for docking a device appropriately. The new device was created to meet the demands of customers, who own many devices and are always on the go. The trick is that a person can charge multiple devices given that such devices touch the surface of the pad. This was made possible thru the Adaptive Position –Free (APF) system, a technology which is patent-pending that PowerSquare runs. Though the said product is still in its early stage of development, customers will find it energy-worthy to avail the product since PowerSquare uses transmitter coils and is also not too costly.

But what is important to mention is that regardless if they are new or not, devices should have Qi-wireless charging compatible. This signifies that devices such as Nokia Lumia devices, most Samsung Galaxy phones, Motorola Droids, Nexus (4,5,7) and some LG smartphones can enjoy such limited opportunity of using the PowerSquare.

PowerSquare is a component of the Wireless Power Consortium that formulates the Qi interface standard and incorporates OEMs such as Asus, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, Blackberry, and Sony. So when PowerSquare is out for purchase, they can finally obtain the official certification for Qi-wireless charging compatibility.

PowerSquare will be released not later than the end of 2014 with no specific date of launching. Though it is still imprecise as to how much you’ve got to spend to own it, you can already head to their official website and reserve a spot by entering your email address so that you can be the first to order it. So to those who are already tired of docking their phones to wall chargers, what are you waiting for?

Images of possible Galaxy Note 4 leaks in the media

Samsung seems to break out of its status quo as one site has recently shown the manufacturer’s rumored Galaxy Note 4 and its possible designs, a thing that is uncommon move for Samsung to make, as the said manufacturer is a pro at hiding from the snooping media. Moreover, images showing the supposed retail box of Note 4 have also leaked the media recently, which gives more clues as to the design of Samsung’s new flagship.

Based on the pictures, the mysterious device appears to be a combination of Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Alpha. It has a microUSB port and a loudspeaker located at the bottom, a heart rate sensor on the rear, an S Pen slot, a frame that seems to be made of metal and the enhanced version of Samsung’s faux-leather material back cover.

Samsung is yet to unveil Galaxy Note 4 later this year so until then, all we can do is to be satisfied with various leaks such as these while anticipating for the real Samsung flagship to reveal itself at its launching.

Easy steps to change your default search provider to Chrome

Ever since Google has started off putting Chrome into Androids, users have found it very convenient to swap to and from their mobile and desktop browsers. The ability to directly search from the address bar just like searching on the desktop is another reason why many users patronize the said browser; the idea proves that once again, Chrome has conquered the browsing field.

Google has created a home-built browser for mobile web that provides easy browsing. And it’s not at all difficult to adjust the search engine by default, because Google has also made customization to the browser simple and time-saving to the user.

Here are the steps to change your default search engine in Chrome

1. On the top-right corner of the app, tap on the Overflow menu button which will drop down a menu. The menu will then list various choices depending on the tabs being open or otherwise.

2. Select Settings button. It will lead you to the main settings menu.

3. Tap on the Search engine button, located in the Basics section. Notice that the currently selected search engine as the default is shown in a smaller font under the button text.

4. Once you are in the selection menu, you are given the opportunity to choose from five distinct search engines. Various providers such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, Ask and Aol appear and of course, Google is set as the default search engine on Chrome. All you have to do is to manually go into each one of your devices in case you don’t want to use Google to them.

Remember that changing your default search engine in Chrome doesn’t mean it also changes to Google Now or Google Search. The reason to this is that the two always run your requests via google.com. Also, if you are one of those who use Google Chrome Beta, the instructions remain the same but the menus will show slightly different display than the usual, so be careful not to mess up by sticking to the above directions.

Samsung to unveil Metal-covered Samsung Galaxy Alpha on the Fourth of August

It is only in a couple of days before Samsung will introduce the rumored smartphone that is more or less metal. Reported today, the said manufacturer will reveal the 4.8-inch Samsung Galaxy Alpha this coming August 4 and is expected to hit the market immediately after the anticipated announcement.

As what Samsung users hoped for, the Android device projects a unique display that comes with a metal chassis. Said to be a scaled down GS5, Alpha is envisaged to exhibit a 4.8-inch 1280x720 pixel AMOLED display, LTE-Advanced connectivity, 32GB of storage and a fingerprint sensor.

Moving ahead, Samsung is set to expose at the IFA conference in Berlin the fourth generation Galaxy Note in September. The 5.7-inch Note 4 boasts a notable feature “a three sided display so messages can be read from an angle,” according to a Samsung exec.

As we saw last week, the iPhone 6 is already afraid to competitors and analysts would be different manufacturers ready to wait at the gate the new iPhone with the latest generation of products with the aim of countering the dominance of the smartphone business from Apple.

But the news that circulates in these hours on the net is already sparking a series of discussions, nurturing curiosity: the South Korean news agency ETNews, in fact, did you know that Samsung Electronics would be willing to release a new smartphone early as next month , anticipating Apple and trying to erode the market further bitten apple. But it is possible that the first manufacturer in the world to launch another top of the range a few months after the launch of the Galaxy S5. threatening to "burn" the sales of the latter?

According ETNews sources would be well-informed: the new super device would be called Alpha Galaxy, with large screen and with very high resolution, metal shell and other interesting features. It could be a version of the Galaxy S5 even more large or some sort of redesign of the Galaxy Note, more modern, stylish and hi-tech.

For now, these would be the only information on the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, obviously without any official confirmation from the manufacturer in Asia. It is not the first time that a new release is assumed most "anti-iPhone 6" compared to S5, even when reported by different names: in this case, however, is the echo of ETNews might give the impression that there might be something of truth in the rumors that have chased so far. To confirm or not, however, have to wait until August, just around the corner.
